About Beta Glyco

Beta Glyco was founded by Nikeysha and Judith, two passionate nutrition professionals committed to closing the health gap in African & Caribbean communities across the UK. We know that type 2 diabetes and related health challenges disproportionately affect our community — and we also know that traditional advice doesn't always fit our culture, food, or lifestyle.

That's why we created Beta Glyco: to provide culturally relevant, evidence-based nutrition support that feels authentic, practical, and empowering. Whether you're preventing illness, managing a diagnosis, or simply want to feel healthier, we're here to guide you every step of the way with compassion, expertise, and real-world solutions.

Our mission is simple: build trust, authority, and community so that everyone has access to the knowledge and support they deserve—no matter their background.

Faqs

1. Why is eating healthy important?

Healthy eating provides your body with the right nutrients, boosting energy, improving immunity, and reducing the risk of chronic diseases.

2. How much water should I drink daily?

On average, adults should drink about 8 glasses (2 liters) of water per day, but individual needs may vary based on activity and climate.

3. Can I still enjoy my favourite foods?

Yes! A healthy lifestyle is about balance. You can enjoy your favorite treats in moderation while focusing on nutrient-rich foods.

4. What’s the difference between diet and nutrition?

A diet is what you eat daily, while nutrition is about the quality of the foods and the nutrients they provide to keep your body healthy.

5. How do I start eating healthier?

Begin with small changes—add more fruits and vegetables, reduce sugary drinks, and choose whole foods over processed ones.

6. Does exercise matter in nutrition and wellness?

Absolutely! Exercise works hand-in-hand with good nutrition to maintain weight, build strength, and improve overall wellness.
